Patrick Kortebein, MD

ABOUT

Dr. Patrick Kortebein is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He completed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at the Mayo Clinic, and served as Chief Resident. He completed medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Kortebein was previously the Chief of the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation service at the Sacramento VA and a clinical professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of California Davis.


Dr. Kortebein’s goal is to optimize each patient’s quality of life so that they are able to engage in the activities they enjoy. He believes that the best patient outcomes are achieved with a

holistic approach to each patient’s medical condition, including patient education, a thorough review of the full spectrum of evaluation and management options, and collaborative decision making with each patient.


His professional interests include using evidence- based medicine for the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal and related neurologic conditions, and areas of expertise include electrodiagnostic medicine and the non-operative management of musculoskeletal conditions. 


Outside of work Dr. Kortebein enjoys exercising, classic movies, reading, and spending time with his wife and 3 dogs.
