Brian Joves, M.D.

Dr. Brian Joves is double board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine and specializes in treating spine and chronic pain disorders. He serves as Chief of Pain Management for Hill Physicians.

Dr. Joves completed his ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pain Medicine at UCLA/West Los Angeles VA Medical Center and his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at UC Davis, where he served as chief resident. He earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine, a master’s degree in Medical Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Biology from UC Davis.

Dr. Joves takes a comprehensive approach to pain management, prioritizing education and physical modalities while incorporating medications, interventional procedures, regenerative medicine, and complementary and alternative therapies to restore function and improve quality of life. His clinical interests include neuromodulation therapies, such as spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation, for the treatment of neuropathic pain disorders.

Dr. Joves also emphasizes healthy aging and wellness, helping patients develop sustainable, long-term strategies for maintaining function and vitality that extend beyond pain relief.

Education is central to Dr. Joves’s practice. He developed the Spine & Nerve podcast and YouTube channel, mentors pain medicine fellows across the country, and lectures nationally on neuromodulation therapies.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Joves enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their three sons. He stays active through running and fitness and enjoys exploring the region’s food, craft beer, and wine scene.
